Jon Rafael Birondo is a Filipino-American writer, director, photographer, and camera assistant. Born and raised in North Texas, Jon works primarily as a 2nd Assistant Camera / Digital Utility in the narrative, episodic, music video, and commercial space.
His passion and experience in filmmaking has allowed him to crew on projects for acclaimed directors such as Martin Scorsese (Killers of the Flower Moon, 2023)and Paul Thomas Anderson (One Battle After Another, 2025), studios and streaming services such as Paramount, Warner Bros., Netflix, Hulu, Apple Studios, and Peacock, companies such as Toyota, General Motors, Burger King, Hers, Crash Champions, Riot Games, Raising Canes, Nike Air Jordan, Playstation, Interstate Battery, Main Event, and Wing Stop, and lastly with musicians such as BigXThaPlug, Carter Faith, BJ The Chicago Kid, Maxo Kream, BRIDGE, and Shaboozey.
Jon is a member of ICG Local 600 in the Central Region and can work locally in Los Angeles, CA & Dallas / Fort Worth, TX.
Jon works closely with the Dallas-based filmmaking collective TAMARIND. He is currently in post-production on a short documentary film centered around Archer City, TX.
